Johnson Electric Launches Rotary Piezo Motors for Defense Industry
Silent Motor Technology and Backlash Free for High Positioning Accuracy
Hong Kong - Johnson Electric announced a revolutionary new piezo motor for defense applications that require silent and backlash free operation. The Nanomotion ER series leverages the advantages of piezo motion technology but packaged in a tubular motor housing. The ER motor is a robust and high precision design with integrated drive and encoder. The Piezo Rotary Motor direct drive eliminates gears to deliver zero backlash performance. Power efficiency is maximized due to built in braking to hold position without power consumption.
“Silent and low EMI devices are essential to prevent detection in the field”.
The ER motor series has the best SWaP (size, weight and power) performance for shutter control and auto focus mechanisms for in-flight, head mounted or hand held devices. Closed loop operation is supported by Nanomotion’s S775 XCD closed loop drive and control module, supplied as a PCBA or components for system integration.
“The Nanomotion ER Series operates without any magnetic disturbance to GPS, gyro or compass,” said Jim Dick, Johnson Electric’s senior vice president of Strategic Marketing. “Silent and low EMI devices are essential to prevent detection in the field,” he added.
