Haydon Kerk Motion Solutions Introduces the BGS08 Linear Rail System
Haydon Kerk Motion Solutions, a brand of AMETEK Precision Motion Control, introduces the latest addition to the new BGS (Ball Guide Screw) linear rail product line. The BGS08 is designed to position heavy loads and maintain tight accuracy and repeatability even in applications requiring significant cantilevered loading. |
New Precision Hybrid Ball Screws with Ceramic Balls
Steinmeyer, Inc. announced another option to its standard line of precision ball screw products – hybrid ball screws using ceramic rolling elements. By using balls manufactured from silicon nitride instead of tool or stainless steel, Steinmeyer is able to eliminate micro-welding in the ball nut. |
New Ball Return Design for UltrasSpeed Series
Steinmeyer, Inc. announced today a new design to the ball return for its UltraSpeed line of precision ball screws. This new design is based on a new ball return system that uses precision ball deflectors to guide the balls into a return channel spanning the whole nut length. The deflectors are precision milled and utilize a complex geometry that minimizes friction thus allowing higher speeds with less wear and better smoothness. |
Ultra Miniature Ball Screws for Life Sciences
Steinmeyer, Inc. announced an important addition to its standard line of miniature precision screws – the “world’s smallest commercially available ball screw.” New ULTRAMINIATURE ball screws are available in diameters as small as 3 millimeter with choice of two pitches – 1 millimeter or 0,5 millimeter, making this product ideal for medical applications, such as precise liquid dispensing, among others. Steinmeyer now offers an extensive range of miniature screws from 16 mm diameter (with up to 30 mm pitch), down to this incredibly tiny 3 mm diameter. The screws are equipped with one of four types of ball nuts, with or without preload. And, as with all other Steinmeyer ball screws, custom lengths are available with journals machined to a control drawing. |
New Ball Screw Blog
Steinmeyer, Inc. announced today that it has added a new blog to its web site. This new feature includes categories such as applications, calculations, commercial issues and design. It offers professional advice and we will do our best to provide useful information that is based on over 40 years of ball screw expertise with applications in the machine tool, factory automation, mechatronic, semiconductor equipment, and aerospace industry. Some of the recent subjects posted include “Lead screw or ball screw, which should I choose?” and “Lubricating Steinmeyer ball screws.” |
Ball Screws for Ultra High Vacuum Applications
Steinmeyer, Inc. announced a new option for its extensive line of precision products – ball screws designed for operation under high vacuum. Typical applications include actuators for use in: |
Precision High Lead Miniature Ball Screw for Aerospace Fin Actuators
Burlington, MA - Steinmeyer, Inc. announced a new addition to its extensive line of precision miniature screws - a 5 mm diameter ball screw with 3 mm pitch. This high lead miniature screw is the perfect solution in applications for the aerospace arena, such as fin actuators! Maximum speed is 4500 rpm with a dynamic load capacity of 590 newtons. The ball screw is supplied with our series 2422 ball nut which can be modified to include trunnion supports as shown in the photo. The screw shaft is precision ground and offered in accuracy grades T0 to T5. |
Combination Friction Finger and Felt Wiper for Steinmeyer Ball Screws
Burlington, MA - Steinmeyer, Inc. announced a significant innovation to its standard line of wipers for precision ball screws. Steinmeyer offers the Combination Wiper, consisting of a friction type finger wiper in front of a felt wiper. The dual wipers, plastic plus felt, provide superior sealing. And because the felt is saturated with oil, it's really an optimum low maintenance solution for machine designers - dual wipers provide both improved sealing and constant lubrication. |
28 MM Diameter Ball Screw per JIS Standard from Steinmeyer
Steinmeyer, Inc. announced a new addition to its extensive line of precision ball screws - a 28 mm diameter screw with 12 mm pitch. Normally our product line is guided by the DIN standard which specifies shaft diameters of 20, 25, 32, 40 mm, etc. This new 28 mm diameter product was designed as a size compatible with the JIS standard. The ball screw is supplied with choice of two nut styles: single nut with flange series 1416; or double nut with flange series 1516. The ball nut is normally provided preloaded for zero backlash. |
