Steinmeyer has been manufacturing precision ground ball screws since 1965 in sizes from an incredibly tiny 3 mm up to 125 mm in diameter. Our screws are available preloaded in either single or double nut versions, in either standard or custom configurations. Our FMD division designs and manufactures a complete line of linear, rotary and goniometer stages with drives and controls. Drive options include Steinmeyer ball screws coupled to either stepper or dc servo motors. For higher performance, three linear motors are available - iron core, ironless or piezo. The stages offer some of the lowest runout accuracies available while still using mechanical linear bearings. The Steinmeyer group is comprised of two manufacturing divisions located in Germany.
