SMAC is launching the LCS30 series of Electric Linear Slide Actuator, which is the latest addition to SMAC’s line of moving coil actuators delivering Benchmark Price/Performance to its customers.

The latest in the new series of SMAC actuators is the most technologically advanced yet, combining a very compact package with impressive performance. The LCS30 has a compact size of 30mmx50mmx30mm, yet can still deliver a peak force of 4N and 6N with acceleration of 20G.

SMAC’s LCC-10 and LAC-1 controllers can be used to program and configure the LCS30 series. As with all of the SMAC range, the LCS30 is fully programmable using 3 different modes controlling, position, velocity and force. Therefore the performance characteristics are tightly monitored and programmable in ‘situ’ reducing or eliminating machine down-time.

SMAC’s patented ‘Soft-Land’ function, in its linear actuator product line, is incorporated to allow controlled force when handling small/fragile components. The unit is equipped with 5 micron encoder as standard. 1micron and 0.1 micron encoders are also available as options.

The Benchmark combination of Price : Performance makes the LCS30 ideal for assembly and testing of small/fragile/valuable parts, where fast, precise positioning/ measuring are needed together with extremely high operating life spans. This linear actuator also has a low power consumption of 1.5 amps peak at 24Vdc and 48Vdc, making it highly energy efficient and very quiet addressing increasingly important environmental and energy efficiency requirements.
